The first 100ml coming out are what is called “Foreshots” and should be thrown away or use as lighter fluid. These are regarded as POISON. They contain Acetone, Methanol and other low boiling point non potable liquids. This is required.

After the foreshots come the “Heads”. There are a lot of flavors in these and also a few headaches. I want you to collect 300ml of Heads and then change the jar.

The next jar should be marked “Hearts” or “Middle Run”. This is your drinking spirit. Collect these in Pint (500ml) mason jars and number them in the order you collect them. Collect up to 203F and turn off the heat.
