Intro...

People are drawn to this hobby for various reasons. You may be a beer or wine maker who finds this next level interesting, or maybe you’ve got some skunky batches you don’t want to toss. Maybe you’re a college student just trying to get by—and a pressure cooker still plus a little know-how helps with that. Or maybe you’re like me.

I thought about this for ten years, off and on, browsing stills online—until one day, my wife brings home a copy of MOONSHINE by Matthew Rowley, and boom—the revolution began.

I built my first still out of a stock pot, large mixing bowl, and some copper tubing from Lowe’s. I still use it as a beer stripper. I’ll explain beer stripping later. Just so you know: I’ve never made a batch of beer or wine. I’m in this strictly for the fun of making and drinking my own hooch.
